Take cuttings in May or June, choosing vigorous, new growth.
Wrap cuttings in several layers of dampened paper. Place into bundles, naming the varieties, and put into plastic
bags. Seal, and place in a warm area, eg. the top of a kitchen cupboard or near
some form of heating. Leave for 2 to 3 weeks, allowing cuttings to "callus". Do
not leave longer than 3 weeks or masses of creeper roots will appear, and do not
keep too wet or they will rot.
Open cuttings, which should have callused, and place them in
potting mix. Do not add any nutrients as this can burn the roots. Leave cuttings
in a warm open place in the garden. They will usually root through by
mid-October.
