Beaming Light

“Beaming Light” is a voluminous but compact pole frame holiday home set into a secluded green hillside, near a quiet street in the village of Kennett River.Soaring full length windows to the north and some to the east and west, allow its occupants 120 degree views into the wooded hills across the valley, still largely untouched by the growing number of city dwellers that are now establishing “weekenders” along the west coast of Port Phillip Bay. The angular, cedar weatherboard siding (over well insulated stud frame walling) follows the steep angular pitch of the hexagonal shaped roof line.

  Tusconny Cottage

Built near 19th century gold mining shafts and over their “tailings”, “Tusconny Cottage” is reminiscent of the early Italian stone dwellings that dot the hillsides of the somewhat “European like” landscape between Clydesdale and Yandoit (Middle of Victoria).

  Ironbark Haven

Massive stablized rammed earth named earth walls (SRE), mainly roadbase material with 8-10% white cement, were erected over a 3 week period to form most of the shell and interior structure for Stuart & Bronwyn Spark’s home with Bed & Breakfast units. This getaway accommodation is found along Pt. Addis road (off Great Ocean Road) and close to a scenic walk to the beach.
