Massive stablized rammed earth named earth walls (SRE), mainly roadbase material with 8-10% white cement, were erected over a 3 week period to form most of the shell and interior structure for Stuart & Bronwyn Spark’s home with Bed & Breakfast units. This getaway accommodation is found along Pt. Addis road (off Great Ocean Road) and close to a scenic walk to the beach.

The first floor rooms include a master bedroom and ensuite on the east wing and an equally spacious studio on the west wing. Both wings have their own private balcony with pergola structure looking out onto abundant, untouched native flora and fauna.

Native vegetation and animals may be seen done at hand on casual walks through the property, on public trails nearby.

The 300mm SRE walling keeps the living areas coolish on very hot days, is durable and needs no painting or external rendering. Skylights over the kitchen and dining room give full lighting to these rooms in the winter months while keeping out the summer sun.

Stuart or Bronwyn may be contacted on (03) 5263 2224 for further details about their self contained Bed & Breakfast accommodation.
