When permission to use the Constitution was granted by His Eminence Card. Deskur in three private interviews in Rome in 1988 and again in 1990, His Eminence strongly suggested that the name of the Academy should be extended by the addition “of the Immaculate Conception”, so that the full title now is:
The Australian Marian Academy of the Immaculate Conception.
In line with the support in Rome for the establishment of the Marian Academy in Australia was the blessing attached to this project by the Bishop of Broome in Western Australia, the Most Reverend John Jobst, DD. In one of his many letters, Bishop Jobst wrote:
“I welcome the establishment of the Marian Academy which could be associated with the Marian Academy in Rome. One cannot but notice the role of the Mother of God in ‘crushing the serpent’s head’ throughout the history of the Church ... The present Pope has spoken out clearly and encouraged any efforts promoting the devotion to Mary the Mother of God. For these reasons the Marian Academy is very timely ... I can only say that the statements made in the Constitution are true and in keeping with the Church’s sound teaching ... You may quote the whole or parts of this letter at your discretion.”

To realize its goals and ideals, the Australian Marian Academy has set up its own modest publishing firm, CFM Publications. Since the days of its first publication, a little booklet in honour of Our Blessed Lady entitled “The Call for Mary”, and subtitled ‘Echoes of Ancient Centuries’ in 1980, the name Call for Mary Publications stuck, and the little enterprise is now registered in the Australian State of Victoria as CFM Publications.
Even during the preparatory years prior to the formation of the Marian Academy, its future Executive members were deeply involved in the writing and circulation of roneoed material in defence of the Catholic Church in Australia against the heavy inroads of Modernism, and to counteract the influence of the late Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, S.J. Some titles still extant in print from this period are:
“Teilhard de Chardin and the Dutch Catechism”.
Written and circulated in roneoed form by Frits Albers in 1972 and published in England in 1974 by the late Fr. John Flanagan, STL, DCL, secretary of the International Catholic Priests Association. This essay documents what kind of philosophy was introduced in the nineteen forties in advanced colleges of Catholic education in Western Europe in preparation for the Dutch catechism of the nineteen fifties. It traces the underlying principle of this whole new philosophy and this new catechesis to the works of Teilhard de Chardin.
“The Hidden Schism”.
Written by F. Albers in 1973 and published in 1974 by the same Fr. J. Flanagan. This essay is to be considered as a sequel to the above-mentioned documentation, going deeper into its preparation and its inevitable consequences.
“The Beyerhaus Effect”.
In this essay written by F. Albers in 1976 and published in 1977 in the same manner, the author relates how in 1974 there appeared on the world scene the English translation of an incredible German book, written in 1973 by a Lutheran Doctor in Theology, which book dispelled any doubts many of us may still have about the religious future of the world. The title of this book is “BANGKOK ’73” and its author is Prof. Dr. Peter Beyerhaus. If anyone still needs convincing that Modernism is conceived in Hell, this book will achieve that ...
Much of the remainder of this earlier roneoed material has been incorporated in books that have been systematically printed from 1980 onwards. However, on request, some copies of these earlier essays can still be mailed to interested readers, such as:-

“Medjugorje: Separating Fact from Fiction.”
This article was well received by Bishop J. Jobst of Broome (WA) who wrote:
“It sets out quite clearly the attitude of the Church in the light of information which has been generally withheld from the public.”
